Illinois Cosmetology License Renewal Requirements

Cosmetologists must complete a minimum of 14 hours of cosmetology continuing education during the 24 month pre-renewal period.  Nail Techs and Estheticians must complete 10 hours of cosmetology license renewal courses during the 24 month pre-renewal period. 

One-half of the required CE courses may be acquired via online cosmetology courses. 

License Renewal Dates
Cosmetologists & Estheticians:  9/30 odd numbered years
Nail Techs:  9/30 even numbered years
